Lose the Wrinkles and Look Younger

By Anne Fennell

With new developments happening all the time, treating facial wrinkles has become more specialized with a better understanding of cosmetic treatments. When one has wrinkles on their face, the nature of the world today looks at them like they are "older", and such a big value is placed on a youthful looking face.

What is the process of wrinkle treatments like? Treatments in this area are offered by a wide variety of medical professionals, however, what information should you have before deciding? Here we take a closer look at wrinkle treatments in general.

Exactly what is involved when getting wrinkle treatments?

Our skin is constantly exposed to a number of toxic substances such as automobile fumes, smoke and even the warming rays of the sun, all of which can damage the skin. The skin forms these wrinkles that are seen on the face, and the more there is, the less attractive some people consider you to be, unfortunately.

Botulinum toxin is used to smooth out the fine lines in one's face, and these wrinkle treatments can make a big difference aesthetically. To remove lines, all kinds of things are considered, basic skin cream of course, laser treatments, and chemical peels are also performed. With all of these processes to be chosen from, it looks as if botox is becoming more well known all the time. There are those who use less effective products such as anti-wrinkle creams that have expensive ad campaigns backing them.

Which is the most effective treatment?

At this time, this can not be answered with a high degree of certainty. Depending on the patient and the type of wrinkles on their face, a treatment that will help them best will be determined and administered. Dermal fillers such as botox injections are known to be effective in this, according to the information accumulated, and they seem to be favored by many.

For how much time will a patient benefit from treatments?

The effects correlate to the particular treatment that is provided. The amount of time that a skin cream will be noticeable is not long, and daily use may not even make a big difference. The effects of dermal fillers such as botox treatments last for months, as these methods are superior.

The comparison of cost and results

For treatments such as these, it can't be done for a bargain price. Skin rejuvenation treatments such as botox injections, and other specialized processes can cost as much as $3000 or more, or be somewhere closer to $300, it really depends on the provider. If someone doesn't mind applying skin creams every day and buying more often, this is an option for some. After a period of time, the proper cost of treatments and the results obtained can be measured more accurately. Overall however, it may be that botox injections and dermal fillers are the most cost effective amongst all the treatments available for face wrinkles. CO2 lasers are touted by certain physicians as being the treatments that are most cost effective.

The healing process following treatments

No recovery time is necessary for skin creams. However, amongst the more advanced treatments of facial wrinkles, it appears that microdermabrasion probably has the least downtime. Having said that, this does not make microdermabrasion the best treatment as multiple treatments are required that can be rather uncomfortable to the patient.

Synopsis

Wrinkle treatments for facial wrinkles are many. There are both good and bad points for each kind of treatment. There are many factors to consider, including cost, the type of treatment and the comfort of the process itself, and the experience and professional nature of the treatment provider.
